Machine Man #1 "He Lives Again!" - 1984 Marvel Comics

On September 23, 2020, a model IU-104/E patrolled the floors of Baintronics Storage Warehouse #5 with the task of discarding obsolete materials. The machine discarded a crate that was sent to an IU-72RT and dumped onto the Baintronics dumping ground on Fire Island, where it was found and opened by illegal robot traders called the Midnight Wreckers. Brain found Machine Man's parts inside of the crate before being detected by a Baintronics command floater. The command floater sent the killer bots to attack the Midnight Wreckers, moments before it was shot down by Hassle. After a skirmish, the Midnight Wreckers fled with the crate containing Machine Man's parts, although left its lid behind, allowing Baintronics to identify its contents.

The next morning at Baintronics Central, Sunset Bain lashed out at her men and ordered them to find the Midnight Wreckers and the contents of the missing box, although it had contained a memento from her distant past that she had hope to get rid of. Brain finished rebuilding Machine Man, who introduced himself to the Midnight Wreckers and shed light on his origins, although he had no memory of how he ended up in the crate.

Meanwhile, Baintronics prepared a C-28 Death Dealer to help them pursue the Midnight Wreckers and Machine Man. While contemplating what to do with Machine Man, Baintronics and their C-28 Death Dealer attacked their hideout. The Midnight Wreckers defeated the killer bots, while Machine Man defeated the C-28 Death Dealer.

Later, Sunset Bain and Jocasta learned of Machine Man's return.
